Evaluation 4

http://www.bbfc.co.uk/classification/guidelines/15-2/

Discrimination
  • The work as a whole cannot contain discriminatory language or behavior
Drugs
  • You are aloud to show people taking drugs however you mus not promote or encourage mis-use of drugs. The mis-use of easy to get, highly dangerous drugs such as aerosols is also unacceptable.
Horror
  • Strong threat and menace is allowed as long as it isn't sadistic or sexualised.
Imitable behavior
  • Dangerous behavior (such as, hanging, suicide and self harming) should not dwell on details  which could be easily copied. Easily accessible weapons should not be glamorised/promoted.
Language
  • There may be use of strong language(for e.g. F***) however use of the strongest words (for e.g. C***) can be used however not frequently and in the right context.
Nudity
  • Nudity may be allowed in a sexual context however without much strong detail. There are no constrains on nudity in a non sexual or educational context.
Sex
  • Sexual activity may be portrayed without strong detail. There may be strong verbal references to sexual behavior, but the strongest references may not be used if in the wrong context. Work where the main aim is to promote sexual arousal or stimulation is most likely unacceptable.
Theme
  • No theme is prohibited as long as it is suitable for the 15 audience.
Violence
  • Violence may be strong but should not reflect on the pain or injury. The strongest gory are unlikely to be acceptable. Strong sadistic or sexual violence is also unlikely to be acceptable. There may be detailed verbal reference to sexual violence but any portrayal of sexual violence must be discreet and have a string contextual justification.
Here is a list of things off the official BBFC website who rate films and games. Our opening sequence did not contain any of these however the rest of the film would have had some of them in. For e.g. strong violent and strong language. Our film would have came under 15 just because of the violence portrayed in the film.

People that may be watching the film are most likely going to be teenagers and young adults... People in this age range would be shopping at places such as JJB & JD. The music we used in the film is good as it is a piano cover of Eminem Love the way you lie. This will keep the audience engaged as this is the type of music that they might listen too. Maybe not the cover bu definitely Eminem.

People of this audience watch films such as Rocky & Comedies such as "Grown Ups". As our film is based on a major fight, films such as "Warrior" & "Never Back Down" are all similar sort of audiences of 15... Warrior on the other hand is a 12A. So therefore they hit more people of a younger age but on the other hand the film is very similar to ours, but in my opinion a 15 is better.
